The problem

Access is a cost problem before it is anything else.

  • Repeated cost

Disposable period products have to be bought again every cycle, so the cost never stops. A reusable pair moves that spending to a single purchase.

  • Ongoing waste

Single-use products are designed to be thrown away. A product built to be washed and worn again reduces how much material is discarded.

  • Dependable access

Period care only works if it is there when it is needed. Access gaps at school, at work and at home are what our partner model is designed to address.

  • Where reusables help

Reusables are most useful where washing, drying and privacy are practical. Partners assess this before any distribution, because the product is not right for every context.

We describe the problem in plain terms rather than quoting statistics we cannot source. Where we cite a figure anywhere on this site, the citation is published with it.

The one-for-one model

Funded by sales, delivered by partners.

Each eligible purchase helps fund an additional pair through a community distribution partner.

Distribution timing and quantities depend on production schedules, partner capacity, recipient needs, and available funding.

  1. 01

    A customer purchases one pair

Each eligible consumer purchase is recorded against the impact allocation in our unit model.

  2. 02

FlowForward funds an additional product unit

CAD $3.00 of each purchase is allocated to fund a matching impact pair as a separate distribution expense.

  3. 03

A community partner manages responsible distribution

Partner organizations decide who receives product, in what sizes, and alongside what support.

Transparency

We publish the numbers, including the uncomfortable ones.

The cost of the matching impact pair is a separate impact distribution expense. It is not included in the cost of goods sold used to calculate gross margin.

Sourcing and materials

Standards first. Certifications when we hold the paperwork.

We are evaluating manufacturing partners against defined standards for worker safety, compensation, material documentation, product quality, and supply-chain transparency. Verified supplier and certification information will be published after contracts, testing, and document reviews are complete.

Every material claim on this site carries one of these labels so you can tell a confirmed fact from a design intention.

For organizations

Two ways to work with us before launch.

Community partners

Organizations that already support the people who would receive impact units, and who decide how distribution should work in their context.

  • Donation recipient organizations
  • Schools
  • Shelters
  • Community centres
  • Menstrual-equity organizations
  • International distribution partners

Workplaces and sponsors

A pilot-stage enterprise model for keeping period products stocked on site, plus sponsorship of impact units distributed through community partners.

  • Offices
  • Factories
  • Schools
  • Universities
  • Sponsors
  • Corporate social-impact teams

Who we are

Student-led, and honest about what that means.

FlowForward was formed by students at Collingwood School, Vancouver as an independent business-plan project. We are early, we are learning in public, and we would rather publish a limitation than a claim we cannot evidence.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Can I buy a pair today?
Not yet. FlowForward is preparing product testing and pilot partnerships, so there is no checkout on this site. You can join the product waitlist and we will contact you when ordering opens.
What is the planned price?
The planned retail price is approximately CAD $13.00 per pair. It is labelled as planned because it is confirmed only at launch.
What is the product made from?
The proposed construction uses a certified organic cotton target for the skin-facing layer, a plant-based absorbent core using banana fibre and bamboo pulp from agricultural by-products, and a leak-resistant barrier targeted to be PFAS-free. All material claims are pending final verification with the supplier.
How long does a pair last?
We are targeting up to two years of use, depending on final testing, washing, care and usage. This target will be confirmed or revised after wear testing.
How many hours of protection does it provide?
We do not publish a protection-hour figure. Absorbency testing is underway and we will publish results only when we have them.
What sizes will be available?
Four proposed sizes: S, M, L and XL. Final size measurements will be published after sample fitting and wear testing.
